Old Objects

When opening the door of the desert house, we can definitely have such a feeling - A world is inside the house...

There are stories about spirits learning on objects when the owners died and waiting for the night coming or quiet atmosphere to do something strange through those objects: causing ghostly sound or looming when their relatives are in sleep. Such unbelievable stories always leave the obsession: The very old objects seem to be hidden by secret spirits, especially antique objects. Do people love their objects too much to imagine such stories? Anyway, it is the thruth people have to believe: Each objects has its own story and "destiny".

Sometimes, fugitive thinking suddenly appears in people's mind: Why does this object live with them but the others do not? why does the objects someday belong to them though it is too far from them even a distance of ocean? It is thought to be fate that "the object looks for its owner" or vice versa. People with their characters and habit cannot give bad behavior to their objects, especially those which go with them for a long time! The old does not have the heart to throw an object although it is too old and out of use value. A rusted milk can ( used for measuring rice but for oil-lamp support now), an oil lamp in the time of not having electricity, a dry ink pot, a flower vase with cracked rim (used for containing incense), a mosquito-net, an 30-40 years old ragged blanket. They are memories and said to be a little spirit of people. The rotation will take place when people have to "kill" an object for the replacement of the other and then it will start a new unclear life. Also, "unmoved" objects in many years, which are suddenly discovered, wish to say something but having to keep silent due to the too thick time dust. When opening the door of the desert house, we can definitely have such a feeling - A world is inside the house...

Autumn in Hanoi

If Saigon - Ho Chi Minh city is connected closely with alleys, Hanoi - Vietnam's capital is connected closely with trees and lakes. Although I was born in Saigon, and just come to Hanoi only one time, but have to concede that Hanoi so beautiful and romantic.

Last year, I came Hanoi in an Autumn. I have heard so much about Hanoi's Autumn: beautiful, cool, romantic... etc...But with me, Autumn in Hanoi so strangely...
Whenever the autumn arrives, Hanoi is one year older (I heard people say that). Leaving torrential rain and oppressive heat behind, the thirty six ancient streets of Hanoi's Old Quater are covered with gentle breezes and the sound of falling leaves. Those leaves dye streets yellow, with the gentle breezes wafting over them they have the flavor of new grown rice. Walking in La Thai To street in the clear blue sky, admiring ancient Tortoise Tower and the rows of willow trees reflected in Hoan Kiem Lake, those moments inspire me poets and indeed everyone with special feelings.
Although Hanoi has changed so much, whenever the autumn comes the capital city is particularly beautiful. The beauty lies in the streets, in the small alleys and in every family. That is Hanoi's Autumn. It brings the calmness and tranquility back to one's soul. At the same time it makes us thirsty for a light rain at night, when our minds are strolling on streets full of falling leaves.....

Saigon's Alleys...

I was born and grow up in Saigon. When I was a child, with me, Saigon is all the world, and my country is our alley, is the stretch of road which I go to school everyday, is our neighbouring, friends, teachers, the Church and school.

Now, I know, Saigon is not "the world". Someday I recognize I like to ride motorbike or bicycle around Saigon alleys, eat something, see something and meet someone.

Point of view, Saigon-Ho Chi Minh city is connected closely with alleys. They are straight alleys, tortuous alleys, cleanly alleys but some so in a jumble. But on the whole, there was a part of the urban living, this is the palce where all the activities of people happened such as selling clothes, greasy spoons, noodies shops, sugar-cane juice machines, inns, motor deports and motor repair shops as well.

Most of them without name, only numbers. More and more alleys are upgrading with full of banderols propagating modern life styles in these places.

If you wandered around HCM city without spending a time going into the alley, this is such as not go into detail of Saigon - so-called Pearl in the Far East.

Khi Người Ta Yêu Đời..!!

Sáng sớm nay, đi bơi, sau khi bơi xong, "quất" một tô cháo và một ly sữa đậu nành, thế là xong "breakfast", ấy vậy mà mình vẫn còn mua thêm hai ngàn khoai va bốn ngàn bánh bò, dự định đem vào công ty ăn. Hi hi, ăn vậy bảo giảm cân sao được!! Nhưng đến khi trông thấy cô bé con bà bán sữa đậu nành, ốm nhom, nhếch nhác, sau hai giây suy nghĩ, mình đã cho nó luôn bịch bánh ngon lành mình vừa mua. Cô bé thích chí cười tít mắt (đôi mắt vốn đã một mí, lúc cười lại chỉ còn lại như "hai dòng kẻ"). Chỉ vài ngàn để mua một nụ cười trẻ thơ hồn nhiên như thế, rẻ quá chứ. Và còn một thứ nữa mình nhận được sau đó: Niềm hạnh phúc nhỏ nhoi và sự yêu đời! Một sự bắt đầu ngày mới không tệ đấy chứ !!

Mình nhớ trong một bài hát, một nhạc sĩ viết rằng: "Khi mỗi gương mặt là một hoa hồng. Ta mải mê nhìn dù quen hay lạ. Để mắt ta in bóng hình tất cả. Mỗi đôi môi là một dấu môi hôn..."

Những lời hát mới hay làm sao. Khi mình yêu đời thì mình thấy ai cũng dễ thương, đáng yêu, và mình yêu tất cả mọi người mình nhìn thấy trên đời. Cái khó nhất là làm sao để luôn luôn thấy vui vẻ, yêu đời. Nụ cười không mất tiền mua, không tốn công tìm kiếm, không phải giành giựt mới có được, mà sao người ta lại khó khăn có nó và trao tặng cho người khác thế nhỉ?! "Người Thân Thương" nhiều lần đã nói với mình "Tại sao lúc nào cũng thấy Toàn cười, lúc nào cũng có thể pha trò trong câu nói, và làm cho người khác cũng cười được ?". Người ấy đâu biết rằng, tính tình mình cũng lúc nắng lúc mưa, cũng khó đoán như thời tiết Sài Gòn vậy. Cũng có những khi buồn đến chết được, và đương nhiên cũng có cả những lần "nước mưa hòa với nước mắt". Nhưng thật vô duyên nếu đã không đem đến cho người khác niềm vui, mà lại bắt người ta phải chịu đựng sự buồn chán thất vọng của mình. Và lại càng tệ hại hết sức khi mình tự tìm kiếm, đào bới ra hàng vạn lý do để tự làm mình u sầu. Nên mình mỗi ngày đều cố gắng tạo cho mình một niềm vui riêng, nhỏ thôi, nhưng cho mình sự nhẹ nhõm của cả một ngày. Dù sao thì cuộc sông cũng không quá tệ như người ta vẫn ví "Đời la bể khổ...."
